And just like that Conrad was stood in the doorway of Jayne’s house as though nothing had ever happened.
Worth felt himself visibly tense up, teeth bared, completely disorientated and unsure if his rage was aimed towards himself or everyone else.

If he’d been alive all along why hadn’t he known? Weren’t people who were close to each other supposed to have some kind of 6th sense or something? Bugger if he knew anything about that. All he did know was that he needed out, and at the same time felt so much desire to fill his being with the man in front of him that he could begin to envision why people eat their dead partners.

He was so filled with regret, desire, longing and remorse that he wanted to devour the coroner and have them become as close to one person as possible.

And in the same breath he could never hurt him again.

Natural High [Conrad’s ‘death’]

The rain just kept on pouring and pouring in that piss-riddled alleyway. How had it come to this, one minute he and Worth had been talking (more like arguing) about how the raindrops would make Conrad’s neck taste funny if they messed around now, and the next he was backed up against the wall while Abner and Worth knocked boots.
